Lifetime Athletic Achievement Award Winner

Frank Nails graduated from Western State in 1959 and went on to get his Master’s Degree from UNLV in 1969. Nails made his mark as a High School football coach. Nails was a teacher and coach in Pueblo from 1960-64 and was a teacher, coach and administrator in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nev. From 1964-97. In 1997, Nails was inducted into the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Hall of Fame and in 1995 Las Vegas High School named their football facility Frank Nails Stadium. During his coaching career, Nails won a Nevada State Championship at Bishop Gorman High School and combined with his time at Gorman and Vegas’ Western High School went 51-9-2. At Western, Nails was a fullback and linebacker.
