COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Thursday morning released its 2025-26 Men's Basketball All-RMAC teams with Aidan McDowell earning first team honors.Â
McDowell earned First Team All-Conference honors after an outstanding season on the court.
McDowell received the recognition after averaging 26.7 points, 1.4 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game. He made an immediate impact to begin the season, scoring a season-high 37 points in the Mountaineers' opening game against Angelo State.
Throughout the year, McDowell established himself as one of the conference's most consistent offensive threats. He scored 30 or more points in nine games and reached the 20-point mark in 25 of the team's 28 contests.
His scoring average ranks as the sixth-best single-season mark in the history of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference record book.
He also proved to be one of the league's most reliable players at the free-throw line, shooting 90.1 percent (201-of-223), which ranked third in the RMAC. His 201 made free throws were nearly 50 more than the next closest player in the conference statistical standings.
The sophomore guard started and played in all 28 games for the Mountaineers and led the RMAC in field goals made with 227, finishing 41 ahead of the next closest player.
From beyond the arc, McDowell was equally effective, knocking down 101 three-pointers during the season. That total ranks among the top single-season marks in Western's record book, trailing only Robbie Ballard (113, 1999–2000), Nate Allen (111, 1996–97), and Chris Pierce (109, 1995–96).
McDowell also ranked ninth in the RMAC in three-point percentage at 38 percent and proved to be an ironman for the Mountaineers, leading the conference in minutes played at 37.4 per game.
