COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) on Monday announced its season-ending awards and official All-RMAC list for women's outdoor track & field, a listing that showed Western Colorado's
Allison Beasley and
Nykole Meshew earning first-team honors.
Eight other Mountaineers were noted as second-team All-RMAC performers, earned at the RMAC outdoor championship meet on April 25-27.
Meshew captured the women's high jump title at the RMAC meet to earn her first-team award, and Beasley picked up her first-team honor with a third-place finish in the women's 5,000-meter run.
Nellie Wartanian earned a pair of second-team All-RMAC awards, placing fourth in the 200m dash and sixth in the 100m dash.
Other second-team All-RMAC honorees from the track events included
Emma Kjellsen in the 1,500m run (fourth),
Kelia Portis in the 400m hurdles (sixth),
Peyton Weiss in the 800m run (sixth) and
Lauren Willson in the 1,500 (fifth).
Emma Alford,
Sammie Bretz and
Katrina Trahan were second-team award winners in their respective field events. Alford was fifth in the triple jump, Bretz was fifth in the high jump, and Trahan was sixth in the discus throw.
All-RMAC first team honors are earned by finishing in the top three of individual events at the RMAC championship meet, while second team honorees placed in fourth through sixth place.
Monday's announcement also included the outdoor season's RMAC award winners:
- Track Athlete of the Year: Ava O'Connor (Adams State)
- Field Athlete of the Year: Rojrika Cambell (New Mexico Highlands)
- Freshman of the Year: Emily LaMena (Colorado School of Mines)
- Coach of the Year: Ross Fellows (UC Colorado Springs)
- Outdoor Track Performer of the RMAC Meet: Cambell
