COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Friday released its list of 2026 outdoor track and field major award winners, along with the official All-RMAC list from the outdoor championship meet.

The Western Colorado program earned four first-team honors and nine second-team honors from the April 24-26 meet in Pueblo, Colo.

Peyton Weiss earned her first-team honor by place third in the women's 800-meter run.

The Mountaineer men earned first-team honors from Tyler Nord (2nd place, 1,500m run), Jan Thewes (2nd place, 3,000m steeplechase), and Shawn Carter (3rd place, triple jump).

The major awardees, nominated by and voted on by the league's head coaches, for the women include:

• Co-Track Athlete of the Year: Emily LaMena, Colorado School of Mines
• Co-Track Athlete of the Year: Patreece Clarke, New Mexico Highlands
• Field Athlete of the Year: Febe Wessels, CSU Pueblo
• Freshman of the Year: Sierra Wall, Colorado School of Mines
• Co-Coach of the Year: Matt Sparks, Colorado School of Mines
• Co-Coach of the Year: Ross Fellows, UCCS
• Dr. Randy Rhine Field Performer of the Meet (RMAC Championship): Rojrika Campbell, New Mexico Highlands
• Dr. Randy Rhine Track Performer of the Meet (RMAC Championship): Patreece Clarke, New Mexico Highlands
• Freshman of the Meet (RMAC Championship): Janelle Deboer, Colorado Christian
• Summit Award (RMAC Championship): Madison Clause, Chadron State

And the major award winners for the men include:

• Track Athlete of the Year: Mateo Casados, Colorado Mesa
• Field Athlete of the Year: Chayton Bynes, Chadron State
• Freshman of the Year: Thibault Tauziede, Adams State
• Coach of the Year: Matt Sparks, Colorado School of Mines
• Dr. Randy Rhine Field Performer of the Meet (RMAC Championship): Xavier Freeman, CSU Pueblo 
• Dr. Randy Rhine Track Performer of the Meet (RMAC Championship): Mateo Casados, Colorado Mesa 
• Freshman of the Meet (RMAC Championship): Michael Cruzado, UCCS 
• Summit Award (RMAC Championship): Owen Johnson, South Dakota Mines

Weiss, Emma Kjellsen, Annaka Rudolph, Thewes and Nord would advance to the NCAA Division II championship meet where Weiss and Thewes earned first-team All-American honors and Nord would earn a second-team All-American honor.
