2024: 
Indoor: Placed first in high jump four times through the season. Best High Jump: 1.71m at the Mines Winter Classic & Multi.
Outdoor: High Jump: 1.70m at the CSU Pueblo Spank Blasing. 

2023:
Indoor: High Jump: 1.72m at the RMAC Championships.
Outdoor: High Jump: 1.68m at the Maverick Invite.

2021-22: Earned all-conference second team honors.
Indoor (Redshirt-Freshman): Competed in seven meets for the Mountaineers ... Had four top-three finishes ... Her best finish and mark came at the Western Colorado Alumni Open where she finished in second-place in the high jump with a mark of 1.58m (5-02.25). She also came in second-place at the Western Colorado Open ... At the RMAC championships she came in ninth-place in the high jump with a mark of 1.56m (5-01.25).
Outdoor (Sophomore): Competed in seven meets for the Mountaineers ... Had five top-three finishes ... Her best finish came at the Mines Kit Mayer Classic, where she recorded a personal best mark of 1.66m (5-05.25) in the high jump ... At the RMAC championships she came in sixth-place in the high jump (1.61m, 5-03.25).

2020-21:
Indoor (Redshirt): Did not compete.
Outdoor (Freshman): Competed in five meets for the Mountaineers ... Had three top-five finishes ... Bretz best finish came in the high jump at the Maverick Sun Classic where she came in second place with a mark of 1.58m (5-02.25). She also came in second-place in the high jump at the Colorado Mesa Maverick Open ... At the CSU-Pueblo Open/Early Bird she recorded a personal best mark of 4.87m (15-11.75) in the long jump ... Competing at the RMAC championships Bretz came in 11th place in the heptathlon with a personal best score of 3,367 points and came in 15th place in the high jump (1.49m, 4-10.50).

High School: Sammie comes to Western Colorado University from Brea Olinda High School. Bretz was Crestview League Champion in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles and high jump. She was also named League MVP.
