GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado had yet again another great meet in the Mountaineer Field House, as a school record fell in the women's shot put and they had 11 athletes and two relay teams win their event. The Mountaineers also had seven athletes earn NCAA provisional qualifying marks and four top-10 all-time performances.

WESTERN COLORADO OPEN HIGHLIGHTS
- The Mountaineers had a ton of great performances during the Western Colorado Open. However, none top what Ali Aldrich did. On her first throw in the women's shot put, she broke the school record with an NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 14.19m (46-feet, six-and-three-quarter-inch), while also coming in first-place in the event.
- Aldrich also came in first place in weight throw, with a third all-time and NCAA provisional qualifying throw of 17.64m (57-10.50).
NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS
- Eireann Donohoe had an impressive performance in the women's triple jump, jumping to an NCAA provisional qualifying and third all-time mark of 12.20m (40-00.50). That mark also earned her first-place.
- Malcom Wesley was solid in the men's long jump, earning a second-place finish and NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 7.23m (23-08.75).
- In the men's pole vault, Tim Ellis earned an NCAA provisional qualifying mark by clearing a height of 4.86m (15-11.25). That mark also earned him first-place in the event.
- Sam Burns not only earned an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the men's 60m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 8.18-seconds – which earned him second-place - he also moved up to fifth all-time.
- In the men's one mile, John Houdeshell came in second-place an earned NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:09.42, after his original time 4:24.16 was converted for track size (to banked/oversized) and altitude.
TOP-10 ALL-TIME MARKS
- Despite not earning a top-three finish, Jada Hynds joined the top-10 all-time list in the women's 60m dash, crossing the finish line in the preliminaries in a time of 7.81. That time puts her performance tied for eighth all-time.
TOP-THREE FINISHES
- In the women's 400m dash, Kiarra Lapp left her competition in the dust coming in first-place with a time of 59.78.
- Logan Butterfield won the men's weight throw with a throw of 17.41m (57-01.50) and two spots down in third was Tyler Nelson who recorded a mark of 15.94m (52-03.75).
- In the women's long jump, Cora Olson outshined her competition, coming in first-place with a leap of 5.32m (17-05.50).
- Western earned the top-three spots in the men's 800m, being led by Ryan Outler in first-place (1:57.44), Ethan Coyhis in second-place (1:59.04), and Aidan Scott in third-place (2:00.70
- Lauren Smith did her thing in the women's pole vault, taking first-place with a clearance of 3.54m (11-07.25). Right behind her was Laura Brignoli who came in second-place with a mark of 3.39m (11-01.50).
- Emma Berg represented the Mountaineers well in the 3,000m, crossing the finish line in first place in a time of 11:23.05. A few spots down in third-place was Olivia Kaiser who came in at 11:45.83.
- In the women's high jump, Sammie Bretz came in first-place clearing a height of 1.64m (5-04.50). In third-place, Donohoe recorded a mark of 1.59m (5-02.50).
- Kelia Portis was flying down the track in the women's 60m hurdles as she earned a second-place finish with a time of 9.18-seconds.
- Carson Sander and Philip Lawerence came in second and third-place in the men's shot put with marks of, 13.54m (44-05.25) for Sander and 13.28m (43-07.00) for Lawerence.
- In the men's 400m dash, Bryce Kizewski was 1.11 seconds from earning an NCAA provisional qualifying mark (48.59), as he came in second-place in a time of 49.70 – which was converted from 50.28.
- Similar to Kizewski, Leah Taylor was .29 seconds from earning an NCAA provisional qualifying mark (2:14.68) in the women's 800m, crossing the finish line in second-place in a time of 2:14.97 – which was converted from 2:18.49.
- Ja'Warren Smith was in the same boat as Kizewski and Taylor, being .45 seconds away from earning an NCAA provisional qualifying mark (21.69) in the men's 200m dash – crossing the line in second place with a time of 22.14, converted from 22.41.
- Krystal Wortham came in second-place in the women's weight throw with a mark of 16.17m (53-00.75), and was followed by Chloe Brackenbury who finished third with a toss of 15.34m (50-04.00).
- Kaiya Firor and Mikayla Hutchison, earned themselves second and third-place finishes in the women's 200m dash, Firor coming in at 25.37 and Hutchison crossing the line in 26.14.
- In the men's 3,000m, Kyle Partin cruised to a second-place finish coming in at a time of 9:22.69.
- In the men's 60m hurdles, Jacob Stroup came in third-place with a time of 8.34m.
- Ismael Dembele soared to a third-place finish in the men's long jump, with a mark of 7.01m (23-00.00).
- In the women's 60m dash, Myia Dantzler earned a third-place finish crossing the line in a time of 7.79.
- Tying for third-place in the men's high jump, Dominic Anselmo and Caden Church both cleared a height of 1.90m (6-02.75) on their second attempt.
- Michael Grabowski in the men's mile, came in third-place with a time of 4:28.84.
- For the relay teams, the women's' 4x400m – Abbey Mohan, Emma Kjellsen, Taylor and Bella Miller – came in second-place with a time of 4:13.90.
- The men's 4x400m relay 'A' team – Kizewski, Outler, Coyhis and Patrick Jirele – did their thing, coming in first place (3:29.30) and was followed by the 'B' team – Houdeshell, Braydon O'Neill, Deagen Fahrney and Aidan Scott – who was right behind them in second-place (3:37.85).
