Western Men's Basketball, Wrestling earn Brechler Award for top team GPA in the RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- The Western Colorado men's basketball and wrestling programs both earned the RMAC's Brechler Award announced Wednesday, given to the team with the top GPA in the conference.

The Mountaineer men's basketball program finished with a 3.38 GPA to claim the award in its sport while the wrestling team finished with a 3.14 GPA.

The Brechler Award is named in honor of Paul W. Brechler, a former RMAC commissioner (1976-90), and his wife Wanda Brechler, who were the first inductees into the RMAC Hall of Fame. Each team's GPA is calculated by dividing the total quality points by the total number of credits for each semester. Team GPAs were submitted to the RMAC office by each institution's compliance administrator.
