COLORADO SPRINGS --- Western Colorado's
Taylor Stack earns RMAC Track and Field Academic Athlete of the Year, along with 30 other Mountaineers making 2020-21 Indoor RMAC All-Academic Teams. The Mountaineers place 15 men and 15 women on the All-Academic Honor Roll Team.

This indoor season, Western Colorado had an electrifying season on the track as they broke one school record, ran two top five division two all-time performances, and setting 18 Western top ten performances. On top of that, the Mountaineers have also been excelling in the classroom.

In order for a student-athlete to be eligible for an RMAC All-Academic Team, they must maintain a 3.3 grade point average or higher during their season, along with already having two consecutive semesters at Western Colorado University.

Taylor Stack made RMAC All-Academic First Team along with being named RMAC Track and Field Academic Athlete of the Year.

Taylor Stack, a Biology and Chemistry double major holds a 3.82 grade point average on top of being one of the best distance runners in the nation. He had another strong indoor season as he ran the fifth fastest time in division II history for the 3,000-meter, clocking a 7:57.74 which converted to 7:52.25# giving him the third best time in division two on the year. Stack also ran the sixth fastest time in the 5,000-meter this season. At the 2021 Indoor Track and Field Championships, Stack earned All-American in both the 3,000-meter with a fourth place finish and the 5,000-meter with a seventh place finish.

The Western women placed 15 individual on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll Team, led by junior
Hannah Mae Gigstad with a 3.99 grade point average.
