GUNNISON, Colo. – Former Western Colorado University men's basketball player and assistant coach, Ben Beauchamp, is headed to Spain to begin his professional basketball playing career. Beauchamp signed with Club Baloncesto Marbella late last week.
 
Beauchamp played at Western from 20015-18, scoring 1,334 points, starting 82 games and recording 315 rebounds.
 
Beauchamp was a Second Team All-RMAC performer as a junior in 2016-17 and to start his senior year, Ben was named a Preseason All-RMAC First-Team selection before ultimately earning the First Team All-RMAC designation by season's end.
 
Ben graduated in the spring of 2018 with a degree in Exercise Sport Science and an emphasis in Sport and Fitness Management and was hired as an assistant coach for the Mountaineer men's basketball program prior to the start of the season.
 
CB Marbella competes in the Liga EBA Spanish professional basketball league. CB Marbella currently leads the Group D-A standings this season with a 13-2 record.
 
The city of Marbella is located on southern Spain's Costa del Sol and is part of the Andalusia region.
