COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced its Track and Field Athletes of the Week, with
Brandon Kolb earning recognition for the Mountaineers following an impressive stretch of performances.
Kolb continued his upward trajectory at last week's Western Slope RMAC Last Chance meet, where he delivered a standout performance in the high jump. Clearing 2.02 meters (6 feet, 7.5 inches), he claimed the top spot on the podium and solidified his position as one of the conference's premier jumpers. His winning mark not only secured the victory but also matched the best height in the RMAC this season, placing him tied for first in the conference rankings.
What makes Kolb's recent success even more compelling is his consistent improvement over the past several meets. In his last three competitions, he has steadily climbed the podium, finishing third, then second, and now first. This progression highlights both his development and his growing confidence, establishing him as a serious contender every time he approaches the runway.
As a freshman, Kolb has already built an impressive resume. During the indoor season, he earned First Team All-RMAC honors after a third-place finish at the conference championships, an early indication of his potential and competitive drive at the collegiate level. His ability to transition that success into the outdoor season speaks to his work ethic and adaptability.
Looking ahead, Kolb aims to carry this momentum into the upcoming RMAC Outdoor Championships in Pueblo, Colorado. With his current form and steady progression, he will be a key athlete to watch, not only as a contender for the conference title but also as a rising talent with the potential to make a lasting impact on the Mountaineers' track and field program.
