COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Thursday afternoon announced that Western Colorado's
Alexandra Wallis has been voted the RMAC Women's Diver of the Week.
Wallis captured the 1-meter, 11 dive event Saturday, Jan. 24 against visiting Adams State in her final performance at Paul Wright Natatorium.
One of eight Mountaineer student-athletes from the program honored in a pre-meet ceremony at the Senior Recognition Meet, Wallis posted a season-high score of 438.90 points to earn first place in the event.
Her 11-dive point total surpasses the score required (390) for one of the two standards to earn an invitation to the NCAA Division II Diving Qualification Meet. Wallis had already posted a score (260.75) that had surpassed the required 1-meter, 6 dive score (255).
By qualifying on the 1-meter board, Wallis will also get to compete on the 3-meter board at the qualifying meet.
The diving qualification meet is hosted on the Tuesday morning and afternoon of the opening day of the DII swimming & diving championship meet that this year, will take place at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind., on March 10-14.
This will be Wallis' third trip to the qualification meet, earning inclusion in the meet in 2023 and 2025.
