Wallis Earns RMAC Weekly Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Thursday afternoon announced that Western Colorado's Alexandra Wallis has been voted the RMAC Women's Diver of the Week.

Wallis captured the 1-meter, 11 dive event Saturday, Jan. 24 against visiting Adams State in her final performance at Paul Wright Natatorium.

One of eight Mountaineer student-athletes from the program honored in a pre-meet ceremony at the Senior Recognition Meet, Wallis posted a season-high score of 438.90 points to earn first place in the event.

Her 11-dive point total surpasses the score required (390) for one of the two standards to earn an invitation to the NCAA Division II Diving Qualification Meet. Wallis had already posted a score (260.75) that had surpassed the required 1-meter, 6 dive score (255).

By qualifying on the 1-meter board, Wallis will also get to compete on the 3-meter board at the qualifying meet.

The diving qualification meet is hosted on the Tuesday morning and afternoon of the opening day of the DII swimming & diving championship meet that this year, will take place at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind., on March 10-14.

This will be Wallis' third trip to the qualification meet, earning inclusion in the meet in 2023 and 2025.
