NEW ORLEANS The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday, July 21 released its NCAA Division II All-Academic Teams and Athletes, lists that include Western Colorado's men's and women's teams and multiple Mountaineer student-athletes.
The women's indoor and outdoor program posted a cumulative academic year grade point average of 3.47 while the men's program posted a 3.38 GPA, easily surpassing the minimum GPA of 3.00 to both earn USTFCCCA NCAA DII All-Academic Team recognition.
In all, 13 individuals from the two programs earned inclusion on their respective USTFCCCA NCAA DII All-Academic Athletes lists. Honorees must have achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25, and must have finished either the indoor or outdoor season among the top 50 individuals in an event on the national TFRRS list.
The women's list includes Western's
Allison Beasley,
Sammie Bretz,
Emma Kjellsen,
Jayda Nix,
Kelia Portis,
Lauren Willson and
Haley Wood.
The men's list includes
Logan Butterfield,
John Houdeshell,
Cullen McReynolds,
Kyle Partin,
Caden Peters and
Eddie Siuda.
Beasley was recently voted a College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Second Team Academic All-American. She, along with Kjellsen, Portis, Willson and Wood had also earned inclusion on the CSC NCAA DII Academic All-District women's team. Butterfield, Houdeshell and Partin earned CSC Academic All-District honors on the men's team.
Beasley is also a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference 2024-25 All-Academic Team first-team honoree from both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.
