COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its men's basketball postseason awards Thursday and Western Colorado was represented by Kade Juelfs on the Honorable Mention roster.
Juelfs has used his five years of eligibility as a Mountaineer. He helped the Mountaineers to an 8-19 overall record while going 6-14 in conference play. The senior led the Mountaineers in scoring with 12.5 points per game with 40.8-percent shooting from the field and a 40-clip from 3-point range in 27 games this season. Juelfs scored a season-high 31 points against N.M. Highlands (Nov. 11) going 9-for-15 from the field, 8-for-13 from beyond the arc and 5-for-6 from the free throw line.
Defensively, Juelfs registered 2.3 rebounds per game for the Mountaineers, while also collecting 25 total steals and 2 blocks this season. Throughout RMAC play, Juelfs registered 2.6 rebounds per game and 20 steals. Juelfs not only registered season-high's offensively but hit season-highs on defense as well with seven rebounds against South Dakota Mines (Feb. 22) and three steals against Chadron State (Feb. 20).
Juelfs hit a huge milestone, in the contest against Colorado Christian (Feb. 1), scoring his 1,000-career point. He ends his career with a total of 1,095 points.
