POCATELLO, Idaho Western Colorado track & field on Saturday afternoon finished off its trip to Idaho State University for the two-day Mountain State Games by recording multiple top-5 finishes as well as numerous personal bests.
Myia Dantzler,
Eireann Donohoe,
John Houdeshell and
James Duncan were the Mountaineers' highest finishers, each placing second in their respective events.
Houdeshell posted a new personal best in racing to the runner-up position in the men's 3,000-meter run, finishing a new PR time of 8 minutes, 21.60 seconds. Teammate
Esteban Deniz would add his own PR in the race, 8:25.22, in placing sixth.
Dantzler had advanced from Friday's preliminary heats into the Saturday final of the women's 200m dash where she sprinted to second place with her time of 24.80 seconds.

Emma Alford combined for a 2-3 finish in the women's triple jump. Donohoe's best leap was 11.52 meters (37 feet-9.5 inches), with Alford next with a best jump of 10.97m (36-0.00).
Duncan posted his second-place finish in the men's 60 hurdles, crossing the finish in 8.38 seconds for Western's highest finisher in the event final.
Western jumpers added top-5 finishes in the high jump in both the women's and men's events.
Sammie Bretz was fourth for the women with a best height of 1.66m (5-5.25). In the men's event,
Zac Grable set a PR with his third-place height of 1.98m (6-6.00) while
Tarryn Moore was ninth with a PR of 1.83m (6-0.00).
Brayden Jones' fifth-place in the men's pole vault (4.80m, 15-9.0) was just ahead of
Robert Letsche (4.65m, 15-3.00) and
Maximiliano Kittsteiner (4.65m, 15-3.00).
Will Stone added a PR and another top five with his fifth-place time of 50.15 in the men's 400, and in the women's 400,
Kelia Portis posted a season best time of 57.98 in a sixth-place finish.
Another top-five came from
Cullen McReynolds in the men's triple jump. He soared into the pit for a best leap of 13.47m (44-2.5).
Three other PR's came from the Western distance program.
Emma Kjellsen place ninth in the mile with a new personal best time of 5:01.91, and in the 3,000 both
Emma Berg (10:31.36) and
Haley Wood (10:32.91) hit new PR's with 12th and 14th-place finishes.

Western hosts its RMAC Last Chance Meet on Friday, Feb. 21 in the Mountaineer Field House, providing one final chance to post qualifying marks for the RMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Feb. 28 and March 1.
