GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado hosted the Big Red Machine Open on Saturday and recorded four more NCAA Division II provision marks. Times are adjusted for altitude and track-size.  

BIG RED MACHINE OPEN HIGHLIGHTS  

• In the men's mile Tyler Nord registered an NCAA Division II provisional time of 4 minutes and 7.15 seconds, while placing first in the event. His teammates Ryan Outler and Esteban Denizfinished right behind him for second and third place, respectively. Nord's time is the 14th best time in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and 30th on the NCAA DII performance list.  
• Simon Kelati placed first in the 3,000 meter with a personal-best time of 8:05.39. Kelati's latest time ranks 14th on the performance list and 10th in the conference. John Houdeshell finished in second with a time of 8:22.41.  
• On the women's side, the Mountaineers had a strong showing the 800m as Leah Taylor, Emma Kjellsen and Peyton Weiss all finished within the top-five with NCAA DII provisional times. Taylor placed first with a time of 2:11.69, which is the 12th best time in NCAA DII this season. The sophomore's time also ranks third in the RMAC. Kjellsen placed second, just .01 seconds behind Taylor with a time of 2:11.70 and ranks fourth in the RMAC. Peyton Weiss earned a fifth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:13.16.  
• Eireann Donohoe earned a NCAA DII provisional mark in the triple jump where she also placed first. Her mark of 12.08m (39 feet-7.75 inches) was .62m better than the events runner-up. The mark ranks 12th on the NCAA Division II performance list and third in the conference.

• The Mountaineers will split their squad next weekend as they travel to a pair of NCAA Division I meets. They will travel to Seattle, Wash., for the Huskie Classic hosted by the University of Washington and the Don Kirby Invite in Albuquerque, N.M., hosted by University of New Mexico. Both events are two-day events with both starting on Friday, February 9., and ending on Saturday, Feb. 10.
