GOLDEN, Colo. Western Colorado had a school record fall for the second time this season, a total of 12 NCAA Division II Provisional Qualify Marks and had five athletes record top-10 all-time marks.

SCHOOL RECORD FALLS AGAIN
- For the second time this season, Ali Aldrich broke a school record – which was already hers, by recording a provisional qualifying mark of 14.35m (47-feet, one-inch) in the women's shot put. That mark earned her first-place in the event. Her previous record was 14.19m (46-06.75). Aldrich also competed in the weight throw, where she came in second-place with a mark of 17.00m (55-09.25).
NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS
- Malcom Wesley and Ismael Dembele were flying in the air in the men's long jump, resulting in both jumpers earning provisional qualifying marks. Wesley recorded a distance of 7.40m (24-03.50) – which is very close to his school record of 24-03.75 – and Dembele recorded a third all-time mark of 7.28m (23-10.75).  Dembele earned his second provisional qualifying mark and moved to ninth all-time in the triple jump, with a distance of 14.64m (48-00.50).
- Eireann Donohoe jumped all the way up to second all-time and earned a provisional qualifying mark in the pentathlon, scoring 3,279 points. That point total earned her fourth-place in the event. Donohoe also came in first-place in the triple jump, traveling a distance of 11.99m (39-04.00).
- The women's Distance Medley Relay team – Allison Beasley, Kaiya Firor, Leah Taylor, Katie Doucette  - was flying around the track on day one of the Mines Winter Classic, as they dusted their competition to a provisional qualifying time of 11:55.21. That first-place time is also good enough for fifth all-time.
- The Men's DMR team – Ryan Outler, Bryce Kizewski, Ethan Coyhis, Tyler Nord - cruised to a first-place finish, crossing the finish line in a provisional qualifying time of 9:45.07 (converted from 10:08.47).
- Emma Kjellsen and Lauren Willson both earned provisional qualifying marks in the women's 800m, Kjellsen coming in second-place (2:13.43, converted from 2:16.62) and Willson crossing the finish line in third-place (2:13.96, converted from 2:17.17).
- The women's mile saw the Mountaineers take three of the top-four spots and each runner earn provisional qualifying marks. Doucette came in second-place in a time of 4:46.46 (converted from 4:58.20). Taylor was right behind her in third-place with a time of 4:48.86 (converted from 5:00.70) and recording a time of 4:49.34 (converted from 5:01.20) Beasley came in fourth-place.
TOP-10 ALL-TIME MARK
- Cora Olson leaped all the way to seventh all-time in the women's long jump, with a distance of 5.61m (18-05.00). That distance earned her third-place.
TOP-THREE FINISHES
- Ja'Warren Smith beat out his competition in the men's 60m dash, coming in first-place in a time of 6.91.
- In the men's 60m hurdles, Jacob Stroup's time of 8.28 was good enough to earn him second place.
- Jacob Hernandez earned a second-place finish in the men's 3,000m crossing the line with a time of 8:47.18.
- In the men's one mile, Patrick Jirele came in second-place crossing the finish line in a time of 4:24.04.
- Coming in third-place in the women's 60m, Jada Hynds posted a time of 7.82.
- In the men's weight throw, Logan Butterfield finished in third-place with a mark of 17.40m (57-01.00).
- Mohan time of 1:01.78 in the women's 400m earned her third-place.
- Tim Ellis came in third-place in the men's pole vault, clearing a height of 4.77m (15-07.75).
- Clearing a height of 1.67m (5-05.75), Sammie Bretz earned herself a third-place finish in the women's high jump.
- In the women's 60m hurdles, Clara Tuti crossed the finish line in a time of 9.29, earning her third-place.

Western will be back on the road next week, dividing their team up to compete in four different meets. The Mountaineers will compete in, the ASU Qualifier (Feb. 10-11), Mankato Meet (Feb. 10), Husky Classic (Feb.10 -11) and Don Kirby Invite (Feb. 10-11).
