DENTON, Texas Western Colorado's Women Basketball team will kick off their season participating in the conference challenge against Texas Womans and Angelo State. The Mountaineers will take on TMU at 5 PM MT on Friday, November 10. They will take on the Rams on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 PM.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEKEND

Western Colorado finished 6-21 overall and are ranked 13th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Preseason Poll.

Rachel Cockman leads the Mountaineers active roster as she registered 13.9 points per game with a 52-percent shooting from the field. The sophomore also collected a total of 105 defensive rebounds last season, while averaging 5.6 rebounds per game.

Brooklyn Seymour was also a rebounding machine for Western Colorado last season with 144 total rebounds with 99 defensive boards. Seymour also tallied 17 steals and eight blocks last season.
PIONEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND

TWU has already got off to a strong start with a 3-0 record heading into this weekend's conference challenge. In the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association Poll, the pioneers are ranked No. 23. They were also tabbed to finish second in the Lone Star Conference.

Last season, Texas Woman's finished last season with the most wins in program history with 26 wins.

Ashley Ingram led her team in their opening weekend, averaging 22.3 points with 86.2 percent shooting from the field and 8.3 rebounds per game. Last season the junior led in rebounds (204), assists (64) and blocks (23).
RAMS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND

The Rams opened the season in the D2CCA Tipoff Classic at Trailhead and went 1-2, closing the weekend with a win against Minot State. The Rams are projected to finish first in the Lone Star conference according to the LSC preseason poll.

Angelo State earned a spot on the preseason WBCA poll with a No. 25 ranking after going 26-7 last season.

Sawyer Lloyd returns to ASU's roster after becoming the Angelo State all-time assist leader dishing out 163 assists last season. In the Rams first three games this season, Lloyd has averaged 15.3 points per game with 17 assists and 15 rebounds.
UP NEXT
The Mountaineers will play in Paul Wright Gym for the first time this season on Friday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m., against Texas A&M Kingsville. They will then welcome Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.
