GUNNISON, Colo.  Western Colorado's women's basketball team will open its 2026-27 schedule with a trip to the islands, participating in the 2026 Hoops in Hawaii Tip-Off Classic that runs from October 30 - November 1.

Western joins St. Mary's (Texas) University, Colorado Mesa University, University of Alaska Anchorage, Winona State (Minn.) University, Lubbock Christian (Texas) University, and Hawaii Pacific University in the eight-team  tournament bracket hosted on the home court of Chaminade University.

In a tournament schedule that has each team playing one game each day, the Mountaineers open on Oct. 30 playing Hawaii Pacific. The winner of the game plays on Oct. 31 the winner of the Winona State and Lubbock Christian matchup.

The final day, Nov. 1, closes out with seventh-, fifth-, and third-place games followed by the championship game.
