COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its 2022 Women's and Men's Outdoor Track and Field Major Awards and All-Conference rosters Tuesday. The Mountaineers had 22 athletes – 12 women and 10 men – earn All-Conference honors.

On top of earning two all-conference honors, Eireann Donohoe was also named Outdoor Freshman of the Year after earning an all-conference second team nod in the triple jump event, which came on a leap of 11.88m (38'11.75"). She also competed in the high jump and long jump events for the Mountaineers at the conference meet, in addition to the 100m hurdles. Most recently, she qualified for a spot in the triple jump at the NCAA DII Championships with a 12.44m (40'9.75") mark, which she set at the Maverick Top Gun Last Chance Meet (May 8).

RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Major Awards are voted on by the league's head coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for themselves or their student-athletes. The league's all-conference teams are determined based on finishes at the RMAC Outdoor Championships. The top-three finishers in each individual race are named first-team selections, while the fourth, fifth and sixth-place finishers are tabbed second-team honorees. For relay events, the first-place team is named to the first team and the second-place team is named to the second team.

ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

• Out of the 22 athletes that earned All-Conference honors, eight were named to the All-Conference First team. Mackenzie Burt and Kelia Portis led the charge for the women, Burt making the team in the 400-meter and Portis earning the honors in the 400m hurdles. At RMAC outdoor championships Burt came in second-place in the 400m (55.84), while Portis came in third-place in the 400m hurdles (1:03.27).
• Similar to Portis, Christian Byrtus made first team in the 400m hurdles for the men, coming in second-place (52.87) in the event at the outdoor RMAC championships.
• Simon Kelati, Cade Michael, and Jackson Schwartz, were the only runners to earn All-Conference First Team honors for the men.
• Kelati made the team in 1500m with a third-place performance (3:51.85) at RMAC Outdoor Championships.
• Michael was the lone Mountaineer to earn two first team honors, coming in the 5000m and 3000m steeplechase. He took third-place (14:35.66) in the 5000m and in the 3000m steeplechase, Michael crossed the finish line in second-place (9:17.54) and had fellow first team honoree Jackson Schwartz right behind him in third-place (9:19.92).
• For the field athletes, Kyle Yonker, Malcom Wesley, and Tyler Nelson each earned All-Conference First Team honors for the men.
• Yonkers third-place finish in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.95m (16-feet 2.75-inches earned him first team honors. Wesley leaping to second place in the long jump with a mark of 7.62m (25-00) helped him earn first team. Last and certainly not least, Nelsons toss of 49.77m (163-03) in the discus earned him a third-place finish and a spot on the first team.  

ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM

• Earning second team for the men, Michael Grabowski (3000m steeplechase, 9:23.81) and Andrew Jorgensen (pole vault, 4.55m (14-11)) came in fifth-place in their respective events, while Ryan Outler (1500m, 3:54.77) came in sixth-place in his event.
• The women had four runners, Amaya Booker, Myia Dantzler, Katie Doucette, and Portis earn second team honors. Booker in the 200m (24.39) came in fourth, Dantzler in the 100m (11.92) and Doucette in the 1500m (4:38.09) came in fifth-place and Portis finished in sixth-place in the 100m hurdles (14.85).
• Field athletes, Donohoe, Sammie Bretz, Amber Gustason and Choying O'Brien were the final Western athletes to earn second team honors for the women.
• Donohoe earned two second team honors in the triple, 11.88m (38-11.75) and high jump 1.61m (5-03.25). She came in fourth-place in the triple and tied for sixth-place in the high jump. Bretz tied with Donohoe in the high jump earning her second team honors.
• Gustasons throw of 50.10m (164-04) in the hammer earned her fifth-place and O'Brien in the pole vault came in sixth-place with a clearance of 3.56m (11-08).

ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM RELAY TEAMS

• The women's 4x100m relay team – Booker, Shynesti Johnson, Mikayla Hutchison, Dantzler – school record time of 46.32, earned them second-place at the RMAC Outdoor Championships.
• Also earning All-Conference second team was the women's 4x400m relay team – Portis, Burt, Abbey Mohan, Booker – who crossed the finish line in second place in a time of 3:50.73.
