Biography
2019-20:
Outdoor (Redshirted): Season canceled due to Covid-19.
Indoor (Freshman): Competed in eight meets for the Mountaineers, participating in pole vault in all of them. O'Brien set a personal best at the Western Colorado Alumni Open when she cleared 3.58 meters to with the event. Choying won three meets in her first year at Western Colorado.
High School: Choying comes to Western from Smoky Hill High School, where she was a three-sport athlete, participating in Diving, Gymnastics, and Track. During her time at Smoky Hill, she gained recognition through the Civilian Award, Single Sport Athlete of the Year, and State Finalist. When asked why she decided to attend Western, Choying said, “Because the school offered me good opportunities, both academically and athletically. The school is small enough where I feel I am able to the best learning. It’s also affordable.”
