GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado had one conference champion and four All-Conference individual performances on the final day of the 2022 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Track and Field Indoor Championship – leading to the women finishing fourth and the men finishing in sixth place.
- The women's 400 meter was the best event for the Mountaineers on day two of the 2022 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship as Western took home the top two spots.
- Kaiya Firor blazed around the track and coasted to a first-place finish with a provisional qualifying mark of 56.60 seconds earning her a conference championship. Right behind Firor was Mackenzie Burt who not only came in second place but moved to fourth all-time with a time of 57.88.
- In the men's 3000m Cade Michael earned a provisional qualifying mark and a podium finish coming in third place (8:35.64).
- The last All-Conference performance came from Katie Doucette who crossed the finish line in third place in the women's mile with a provisional qualifying time of 5:06.48.
- The women's 4x400 team – Sakara Harrison, Kelia Portis, Amaya Booker, Burt – joined the top-10 all-time list and had an All-Conference performance coming in third place (3:55.68) which sneaks them on the list at tenth all-time.
- While several athletes just missed finishing in the top-three – coming in fourth place – their performances at the RMAC track and field championships are worth mentioning.
- In the heptathlon, Hayden Ell jumped to third all-time finishing with a total score of 4987 and earned a provisional qualifying mark. Ell best performance came in the pole vault where he tied for first place with a mark of 15-feet one inch.
- Amaya Booker stayed at third all-time in the women's 200m, but improved her time crossing the finish line in a time of 24.94 – previous time was 24.99 – that time was also good enough to earn her a provisional qualifying time.
- Last and certainly not least the Men's distance medley relay team – Schwartz, Bryce Kizewski, Outler, Michael – crossed the finish line with a time of 10:16.22.
