GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado is coming into this weekend hoping to snap their 6-game losing streak when they face CSU Pueblo (Feb. 18) and Adam's State University (Feb. 19). Both of these games begin at 7:30 p.m.

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND |SEASON STATS
  • Things have not been going smoothly for Western the past couple of weeks, as they have lost six straight games, many of which have come down to the wire. In their last two games, Western lost to Regis University 67-69 (Feb 11) and Colorado School of Mines 74-79 (Feb. 12). These two loses has western at an RMAC record of 4-14, still sitting in 15th place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Standings.
  • Matthew Ragsdale and Avery Rembao have been carrying the Mountaineers offense. Ragsdale averages 23.2 points per game (No. 1 RMAC) while Rembao averages 10.7 points per game. Ragsdale makes more of his shots with a made field goal percentage of 46.8 (No. 17 RMAC) and a made three-point percentage of 37.7 (No. 9 RMAC).
  • Elijah Davidson has been putting in work on Western's defensive side. He averages one block per game (No. 6 RMAC). He also averages 5.8 defensive rebounds per game (No. 4 RMAC)
  • Western currently has the sixth ranked offense scoring 76.4-points per game, and they are ranked 15th in defense, letting up 81.7-points per game on average.
THUNDERWOLVES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • CSU Pueblo is looking to capitalize on their last game, which they won against Westminster College 72-62 (Feb. 11) and begin a winning streak after losing their two prior games against Chadron State 86-88 OT (Feb. 6) and New Mexico Highlands 84-94 (Feb. 9). CSU Pueblo currently sits in 10th place on the RMAC standings, with a conference record of 7-10.
  • Offensively, Lian Ramiro and Meekness Payne are the two scoring leaders for the Thunderwolves. Ramiro averages 18.8-points per game (No. 7 RMAC) while Payne averages 12.8-points per game. Payne is better from the field making 49.7 percent of his shots, but Ramiro has a better three-point shot making 40.6 percent of his shots from deep.
  • On defense, Meekness Payne averages 0.7 (No. 16 RMAC) blocks per game while De'Shaun Cooper averages 0.6 (No. 22 RMAC) blocks per game. Isaiah Thompson also puts in work on the defensive glass, averaging 4.1 (No. 11 RMAC) defensive rebounds per game.
  • CSU Pueblo is currently sitting at No. 8 on the RMAC offensive standings averaging 75.8 points scored per game and are ranked No. 13 for defense letting up an average of 79.7 points per game.
GRIZZLIES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • The Grizzlies are looking to start a winning streak this weekend after winning their last game against Westminster College 101-96 2OT (Feb. 12). The Grizzlies are currently sitting at the No. 9 spot on the RMAC standings, with a record of 7-10.
  • Jordan Notch, Rylan O'Brien, and Kaelin Crane are the top scorers for the Grizzlies. Averaging 15.3, 14.9 (No. 14 RMAC), and 13.6 (No. 24 RMAC) points per game. Kaelin Crane has the highest field goal percentage out of the bunch at 45.8 (No. 19 RMAC).
  • Malik Moore dominates on the defensive glass averaging 5.4 (No. 5 RMAC) boards per game. Kaelin Crane also helps with the defensive boards, averaging 3.6 (No. 18 RMAC) rebounds per game. Crane and Moore are serious threats on the defensive ends, averaging 0.7 (No. 11 RMAC) blocks per game, and 0.6 (No. 20) blocks per game. Nykolas Lange averages 1.3 (No. 14 RMAC) steals per game, while Tyrin Hollis averages 1.1 (No. 23 RMAC) steals per game.
  • Adam's State University is currently ranked tenth for offense in the RMAC standings, with an average of 74.1 points scored per game, and they are ranked number 14 in the RMAC defensive standings allowing an average of 80.6 points per game.
ON THE COURT NEXT
After these two road games, the Mountaineers are heading back to Gunnison for their final two games of the season. They will be playing Colorado Mesa University on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Then they will play Westminster College on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7:00 p.m. Both games will be played at Paul Wright Gym in Gunnison, Colo.
