GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado will look to get back on track this week when they take on Adams State University (Jan. 21) and Colorado State University Pueblo (Jan. 22).

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- Coming off two tough losses against Black Hills State (Jan. 14) and Chadron State (Jan. 15), Western is eager to get back on the court and snap their four-game losing streak.
- Currently the Mountaineers are in 13th place (2-7) in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Standings.
- Matthew Ragsdale is the leading scorer for Western, averaging 24-points per game, on 50.7 percent shooting from the field (No. 13 RMAC), 42.6 percent shooting from three (No. 7 RMAC) and 85.7 percent shooting from the free throw line (No. 4 RMAC).
- Jaelan McCloud is the next highest scorer averaging 10-points per game. McCloud shoots 54.2 percent from the field (No. 6 RMAC) and 55 percent from three (No. 1 RMAC).
- The Mountaineers have the third ranked offense scoring 79.8-points per game and 15th ranked defense giving up 86.2-points per game. Western shoots 46.1 percent from the field (No. 7 RMAC), 38.4 percent from three (No. 2 RMAC) and 70.6 percent from the free throw line (No. 12 RMAC).
GRIZZLIES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- Adams State has had a tough stretch lately, losing their last two games against Colorado State University Pueblo (Jan. 4) and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (Jan. 17). Those losses have the Grizzlies in 11th place (3-6) in the RMAC Standings.
- Despite sitting in 11th place, Adams State has four players – Jordan Notch (17.3), Rylan O'Brien (12.6), Kaelin Crane (11.8) and Malik Moore (10.8) – who each average double figures in scoring.
- Nykolas Lange has been a key defensive player for the Grizzlies averaging 1.6 steals per game (No. 7 RMAC).
- As a whole Adams State has the tenth ranked offense averaging 71-points per game, and the 14th ranked defense giving up 80.9-points. The Grizzlies shoot 43.6 percent from the field (No. 11 RMAC), 32.9 percent from three (No. 11 RMAC) and 80.5 percent from the free throw line (No. 1 RMAC).
THUDERWOLVES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- After defeating UCCS 72-67 (Jan. 15), CSU-Pueblo snapped their brief losing streak and now sits in eighth place (5-5) in the RMAC standings.
- The Thunderwolves are led by Meekness Payne and Lian Ramiro who average 15.7 and 15.3-points per game. Elijah Moleon also is a threat on offense scoring 10.1-points per game.
- Ramiro also is a factor on the defensive end of the court averaging 1.1 steals per game (No. 23 RMAC).
- So far in conference play, CSU-Pueblo has the seventh ranked offense scoring 73.5-points per game and the 12th ranked defense giving up 77.8-points. The Thunderwolves shoot 47.7 percent from the field (No. 4 RMAC), 32.6 percent from three (No. 12 RMAC) and 68.4 percent from the free throw line (No. 14 RMAC).
ON THE COURT NEXT
The Mountaineers will hit the road for their next game on Friday, Jan. 28 traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah to take on Westminster at 7 p.m. The next day (Jan. 29) Western will be back in action against Colorado Mesa, which will be played on the road at 7:30 p.m.
