GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's soccer team looks to bounce back from its first loss of the season as it travels to Texas this week to take on St. Mary's on Friday and Texas A&M International on Sunday.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | 2021 SEASON STATS
Western Colorado suffered its first loss of the season Friday as it fell to Eastern New Mexico 1-0 in its home opener. The Greyhounds scored in the 87th minute to pick up the victory - the first goal the Mountaineers have allowed in three games this season.

Jessie Jacobsen leads the Mountaineers with three points on the short season - one goal and one assist - while Kylie Hickox and Casey Ober each have a goal. Larua Pelino has also added an assist this season for the Mountaineers.

In goal, Kaeyla Noble has been outstanding for WCU, giving up just one goal in three games (0.33 GAA) with a 0.960 save percentage (24 saves).

ST. MARY'S HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021 SEASON STATS
The Rattlers are 1-2 on the season, last playing Saturday where they lost 1-0 to East Central. Two days prior, St. Mary's defeated Southern Nazarene 4-1.

Eliza Merrion leads the team with two goals and 15 shots taken this season while Alexis Lawrence has a team-high two assists. In goal, Rebecca Difronzo has played all but 45 minute this seaon, allowing just two goals (0.80 GAA) with a 0.857 save percentage.

TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021 SEASON STATS
The Dustdevils enter the contest 1-2 on the season, losing at Saint Leo 1-0 on Sunday. Two days prior, they picked up their first win of the season, beating Florida Southern on the road 1-0.

On the season, Nicole Cohen and Valeria Macias have each scored a goal for the Dustdevils while Stefanie Petrova has an assist. In goal, Fabiana Solano has played all 277 minutes this season - allowing three goals (0.97 GAA) with a 0.850 save percentage.

THE MOUNTAINEERS VS. ST. MARY'S, TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL ALL-TIME
Friday will mark the first meeting between Western Colorado and St. Mary's while the Mountaineers have played Texas A&M International twice - winning both meetings (1-0 in 2013 and 2-0 in 2015 - both contests were played in Gunnison).

- MOUNTAINEERS GET OFF TO FIRST 2-0 START SINCE 2014,
Western Colorado's 2-0 start to the season equaled the best start to the season since the 2014 team. That 2014 squad went on to tie its next contest and would start the season 5-0-3 for the team's best undefeated start in program history.

- NOBLE NAMED RMAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK (SEPT. 7)
Western Colorado's Kaeyla Noble is this week's Rocky Mountain Athletics Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after picking up two shutouts in two Mountaineer wins. Noble in a 1-0 season-opening win over Western Oregon on Friday in Grand Junction picked up six saves while playing all 90 minutes - facing nine shots. Noble was even more impressive against West Texas A&M in the Mountaineers' 2-0 win Sunday in Durango, picking up 11 saves - tied for the seventh-most in the nation during the opening weekend - while facing 21 shots.

- WELCOME TO KATY O. RADY FIELD - THE HIGHEST COLLEGIATE SOCCER FIELD IN THE WORLD
Western Colorado women's soccer will debut Katy O. Rady Field this season and it will be the highest collegiate soccer field in the world at 7,723 feet. 

- MOUNTAINEERS PICKED 12TH IN RMAC PRESEASON COACHES POLL (RELEASE)
The Western Colorado women's soccer team was voted 11th in the RMAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. Western Colorado went 1-8 overall and 1-4 in RMAC play during the spring 2021 season - moved from fall 2020 due to the pandemic.
