COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's soccer team was voted 11th in the RMAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll released by the conference Wednesday.
The Mountaineers picked up 33 points, three points ahead of Black Hills State and 13 ahead of New Mexico Highlands while they were 17 points behind No. 10 Colorado Christian.
Colorado School of Mines was voted first with 138 points and seven first-place votes followed by UCCS (128 points, three first-place votes) and CSU Pueblo (121 points, three first-place votes).
Western Colorado went 1-8 overall and 1-4 in RMAC play during the spring 2021 season - moved from fall 2020 due to the pandemic.
The Mountaineers' first action is a scrimmage at CSU Pueblo on Aug. 28 before opening the season in Grand Junction against Western Oregon on Sept. 3. After a Sept. 5 contest in Durango against West Texas A&M, Western Colorado plays its first home contest Sept. 10 against Eastern New Mexico.
