Swimming and diving hosts Adams State for Senior Day

Gunnison, Colo. --- Western Colorado swimming and diving is set to hosts Adams State on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. with Senior Day starting at 11:40 a.m. This will be the first home meet of the season for the Mountaineers and only the third meet of the year for Western Colorado.
 
Competing in their final season for Western Colorado University will be seniors Nina Crouch, Gabriella Garcia, Amalie Ratliff, Jordyn Richey, Sydney Skiles, and Savannah Tice.
 
Nina Crouch – The Denver, Colorado native, has swam for the Mountaineers all four years of her colligate career. Crouch has competed in the RMAC Championships all three seasons leading up to this one. She says her best memory at Western was "Hiking a 14er with the team sophomore year and going to conference every year."
 
Gabriella Garcia – The Lakewood, California native, has swam for Western Colorado University all four years of her colligate career. Garcia also has competed in the RMAC Championships all three seasons leading up to this one.
 
Amalie Ratliff – The Bothell, Washington native, enters her fourth season swimming as a Mountaineer, spending her whole college career at Western Colorado University. Ratliff has competed at the RMAC Championships every year she has been on the team. When asked what her best memory at Western was, she says "all the amazing people I have met and the friendships that will last past Western."
 
Jordyn Richey – The Aurora, Colorado native, has swam for the Mountaineers since she was a freshman back in 2017-18. Richey has been on the RMAC Conference team every year since becoming a Mountaineer, having a breakthrough year last season, which resulted in her earing Second Team All-RMAC. Her best memory at Western was the day she made the decision to continue swimming and gained a family she will never forget. Richey also holds the 200-yard breaststroke school record and 200-yard IM school record, as well as being on the 400-yard medley relay school record team.
 
Sydney Skiles – The Gilbert, Arizona native, started as a freshman here at Western Colorado University in 2017-18. Since then she has made the RMAC Championship team all three years of her collegiate career. Setting a personal best and finishing sixth last season in the 1000-yard free. Skiles also holds the school record in the 200-yard IM.
 
Savannah Tice – The Lamar, Colorado native, finishes her fourth and final season as a Mountaineer, ending her decorated career at Western Colorado University. Tice has qualified for the NCAA Championships the past two years, receiving All-American honors in 2020 despite the cancelation of the national meet. Tice appears on the Western record board five times, twice for individual events and three times on a relay team. When asked what her best memory was at Western she said, "Going to RMAC's with the team and seeing everyone swim, and all of our training payoff."
