GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team returns home to host No. 22 Dixie State on Friday and Westminster on Saturday.

The Mountaineers sit at 5-10 in RMAC play - three games out of the final spot in the RMAC Tournament with seven games to go. Dixie State sits in second place at 12-3 - a game back of Black Hills State - while Westminster sits in a four-way tie for the fourth and final hosting spot for the RMAC Tournament. RMAC STANDINGS

PREVIOUS MEETINGS THIS SEASON
Western Colorado dropped both games on the road to Dixie State (87-57 on Jan. 25) and Westminster (78-62 on Jan. 24) earlier this season. Matthew Ragsdale led the Mountaineers in scoring in each game - averaging 13 points per game in the two contests.

THE MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | 2019-20 SEASON STATS
Western Colorado split on the road last weekend, dropping an overtime game Friday at Colorado Christian 94-92 (getting 21 points from Ragsdale) before bouncing back to beat Regis on Saturday 81-77 (Monroe Porter led the way with 24 points and eight rebounds while Ragsdale added 20).

The Mountaineers have three players averaging double figures in Cole Sienknecht (13.1), Ragsdale (11.1) and Jackson Ehrlin (10.7). Ragsdale continues to shoot it well from long range as he's third in the RMAC in 3-point percentage (45.1 percent) and fourth in 3-pointers per game (2.6). Porter continues to do a bit of everything for the Mountaineers as to go along with his 9.7 points per game, he leads the team in rebounding (6.6), assists (2.6) and is tied for the lead in blocks (0.5).

As a team, the Mountaineers are averaging 71 points per game while they are 10th in conference in points allowed per game (78.4). WCU continues to lead the RMAC in free-throw percentage at 77.7 percent.

DIXIE STATE HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Trailblazers extended their win streak to fie games on Friday at Fort Lewis with a 90-72 victory with five players reaching double figures before the streak was snapped Saturday at Adams State 82-75 after the Grizzlies outscored DSU 53-44 in the second half.

Hunter Schofield leads the Trailblazers in scoring (16.4), rebounding (6.8) and blocks (0.6) while shooting 52.4 percent from teh field. Jack Pagenkopf is second on the team in scoring (13.6) and rebounding (6.0) while ledaing the team in assists (6.1) and steals (2.0). Dason Youngblood is also averaging double figures at 10.5 points per game to go along with 4.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.4 steals per contest.

DSU leads the RMAC in scoring margin (plus-9.4 points), averaging 81.2 points while allowing 71.8 points per contest. The Trailblazers are tops in the RMAC in field goal percentage defense (40.4 percent) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (31.8). They are also first in assist-to-turnover ration (1.38) and second in rebounding margin at plus-5.5 rebounds.

WESTMINSTER HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Griffins enter the weekend on a five-game winning streak - including winning a pair of road games last week with wins at Adams State (71-67) and Fort Lewis (91-85).

Westminster is four players that can all connect from deep in Brandon Warr (16.2 ppg, 41.1 percent from 3, 53 3-pointers made), Jake Connor (12.2 ppg, 41.4% from 3, 53 3-pointers made), Alec Monson (12.0 ppg, 34.1% from 3, 29 3-pointers made) and Jai Jai Ely (11.9 ppg, 51.6% from 3, 33 3-pointers made). Joonas Tahvanainen is also averaging double figures at 10.8 points per game as those five have started all 21 of the Griffins' games - accounting for 63.1 of the teams' 75.2 points per game.

The Griffins are seventh in the RMAC in points allowed per game at 72 and are third in field goal percentage defense at 42.4 percent.
