GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team looks to build off a key win and stay in the RMAC playoff hunt as the Mountaineers host Fort Lewis on Friday and Adams State on Saturday at Paul Wright Gym.
WCU and the Grizzlies at 3-6 are tied for 13th in the RMAC, however, are just a game back of the No. 8 spot as five teams are tied at 4-5 - including Fort Lewis.

Western Colorado split a pair of games at home last weekend, falling to CSU-Pueblo 79-71 on Friday while defeating defending RMAC Tournament champion New Mexico Highlands 83-67 on Saturday behind 22 points apiece from
Cole Sienknecht and
Matthew Ragsdale along with a near-record performance on the glass from
Monroe Porter. The 6-foot-3 senior grabbed an RMAC-best 20 rebounds to go along with eight points, seven assists and two blocks - one rebound short of the WCU record set in 1966. This performance helped Porter be selected as the RMACÂ Defensive Player of the Week.
The Mountaineers are 11th in the RMAC in scoring defense at 75.8 points per game while scoring 69.1 points per contest - 16th in the RMAC. Two aspects the Mountaineers have done well in this season are free throws (tops in the conference at 77.2 percent) and rebounding (fourth in the RMAC in rebounding margin at plus-4.5).
Sienknecht leads the the Mountaineers in scoring at 13.6 points per game while connecting on a team-best 26 3-pointers to go along with 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.5 steals per contest. Ehrlin is second on the team in scoring at 10.9 points per game while leading the team at 6.5 rebounds per contest along with averaging 2.1 assists and 0.5 blocks. Ragsdale is third on the team in scoring (7.9) while
Monroe Porter is fourth at 7.5 per game to go along with 6.3 rebounds, a team-best 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.5 blocks.
FORT LEWIS HEADING INTO THIS WEEKÂ |Â SEASON STATS
The Skyhawks dropped both games on the road last week, falling at UCCS 80-70 on Friday and at Colorado School of Mines 86-77 on Friday as they've lost three in a row.
The Skyhawks are second in the RMAC in scoring at 84.5 points per game while they are 12th in points allowed at 79.1. FLC is fourth in the RMAC in 3-pointers per game at 8.3 and are first in fewest turnovers per game at 12.1.
Riley Farris leads the Skyhawks and is second in the RMAC in scoring at 24.3 points per game to go along with 5.7 boards per contest. He's shooting 58.9 percent from the field - including 45.8 percent from 3-point range (22-for-48). FLC has three other starters averaging double figures in Akuel Kot (13.3), Will Wittman (10.5) and Danny Garrick (10.3). Logan Hokanson leads the team in assists at 3.6 per game.

The Grizzlies dropped both games on the road last week, falling at Colorado School of Mines 90-64 on Friday and at UCCSÂ 92-85 on Saturday.
ASU is eighth in the RMAC in scoring at 76.3 points per game and are second-to-last in points allowed at 83.4 per game. The Grizzlies have struggled on the glass, as they are last in the RMAC in rebounding margin at minus-11.8 per game. The Grizzlies will look to push the pace and are forcing 15.8 turnovers per game - third in the RMAC and are second in turnover margin at plus-3.1 per game.
Kaelin Crane leads four players averaging double figures at 15.4 points per game to go along with 4.1 rebounds, 1.1 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. Juwan Green is just behind him at 15.3 points per game while leading the team at 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Rickey Norris is third in scoring at 12.1 points per game while leading the team at 6.5 rebounds per game and Rylan O'Brien is fourth at 11.3 points per game.
