GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Colorado University men's basketball closes the 2018-19 home slate this weekend in Paul Wright Gym against a pair of conference rivals. The Mountaineers host Adams State University on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Fort Lewis College at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Friday night is Pink Night in Paul Wright as the Western basketball teams raise money and awareness for cancer. The Mountaineers men's basketball team will also honor and recognize family and friends of players prior to the start of the game against ASU.

Saturday, Western will honor two seniors,
Brady Subart and
Zach Madlom, before their final game in Gunnison.

Subart has appeared in 97 games, scoring 1,140 points, while grabbing 276 rebounds and recording 217 assists. Subart scored a career-high 32 points, including nine three-point field goals against Fischer College this season. Subart maintains a 3.91 grade-point average and has been selected to three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic teams, including two First Team selections.

Madlom has appeared in 31 games, including six starts. Madlom scored a career high 15 points against Dine College in 2016. Madlom maintains a 3.78 GPA as a biology and chemistry major. The senior has been selected to three RMAC All-Academic teams.

With only three games remaining in the season, Western (4-21, 1-18 RMAC) will look to grab two at home this weekend.

The Mountaineers are currently 16
th in the conference standings, but are coming off a 74-72 win against Colorado Christian University last Saturday.

As a team, Western is averaging 10.1 three-pointers made per game. Their 253 made three-point field goals this season is second best in the RMAC. The team is also averaging 14.48 assists per game, which ranks fourth best in the conference.

Cole Sienknecht has the best three-point shooting percentage in the conference, making 42.6 percent of his attempts. Subart is not far behind the freshman, averaging 41.5 percent from beyond the arc, which ranks third best in the RMAC. The sharp-shooting duo are both averaging 2.5 three-pointers per game, which ranks tied for fourth best in the conference.

Subart is averaging 15.3 points per game to lead the Mountaineers. It's also the 10
th highest scoring average in the conference this season.

Friday will be the 191
st game played between Western and Adams State. The Grizzlies lead the all-time series with 108 wins to the Mountaineers' 82. Western fell to the Grizzlies 89-98 earlier in the season.

ASU (10-14, 10-9 RMAC) holds the eighth-place position in the RMAC standings by a single game. The Grizzlies have won three of their last four games, including a 90-72 win over Westminster College last Saturday.

ASU has the conference's fifth highest scoring average at 79.3 points per game.

John Dewey is leading the Grizzlies' offensive attack, averaging 19.8 points per game. Dewey is the RMAC's third leading scorer.

Saturday, the Mountaineers will face FLC (11-14, 6-13 RMAC) for the 122
nd time. The Skyhawks defeated Western 63-72 earlier in the season and hold the series record, 42-79.

FLC is 13
th in the RMAC standings and lost last Saturday's game against Dixie State University 50-63 at home.

The Skyhawks are holding teams to 35.2 percent shooting from the field, which is fifth best in the conference.

FLC's Marquel Beasley leads the FLC scoring attack. Beasley is averaging 17.2 points per game, which ranks seventh best in the conference.
