Gunnison, Colo. – Mountaineers Track and Field heads to Colorado University Boulder to compete at the Colorado Invitational. For the second weekend in a row Western will be competing against some of the top division one schools. The Colorado Invitational will be held in CU's new Indoor Practice Facility, containing a Mondo 300m six lane oval with an eight lane sprint straight. One of the top indoor facilities in the nation, so we should be expecting some fast times from our Mountaineers.
Â
On the distance side, Western plans to have All-American's
Sophie Seward,
Kennedy Rufener,
Charlie Sweeney and
Taylor Stack all competing in the 3k.
Â
Another athlete to keep your eyes on this weekend is redshirt senior
Colin Borner in the pole vault. Borner currently sits 15
th in the Nation, but is looking to better that mark this weekend.
Â
Kyree Goodman will be back in action this weekend, and running the 800 meter will be
Juman Randall.
Â
With many of the Mountaineers sitting on the edge of the Nationals bubble, Western looks to improve their marks. With Nationals being just over two months away, there is still plenty of time for the Mountaineers.
