ASU Live VideoGUNNISON, Colo. – The Western State Colorado University men's and women's basketball teams will conclude the 2014-15 season this weekend when the Mountaineers play host to Fort Lewis College and Adams State.

The Mountaineers will begin weekend play Friday at 5:30 p.m. when the women take on Fort Lewis with the men to follow at 7:30 p.m. Saturday's action will also begin at 5:30 when the Western women take on rival Adams State before the men take the court at 7:30.

SENIOR NIGHTWestern will honor nine Mountaineers in the season finale Saturday who will play their final home games inside Paul Wright Gym.

The women will recognize
Jade McIntosh (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) and
Maricel Medina (Sr., Albuquerque, N.M.) at the conclusion of their game against Adams State.

For the men, the Mountaineers will send off
Mason Biddle (Sr., Riverside, Calif.),
Sam Johnston (Sr., Melbourne, Australia),
Devin Kastrup (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.),
Curtis Neely (Jr., Windsor, Colo.),
Keenan Prochazka (Jr., Moose Pass, Alaska),
Ben Schmidt (Sr., Windsor, Colo.) and
Dominique Wright (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) before Western tips off against the Grizzlies.

McIntosh leads the Mountaineers (4-20, 3-17 RMAC) with 12.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this season. Currently ranked sixth on the all-time scoring list with 1,081 points, McIntosh tops the Western career record books in free-throw percentage with .806.

Fort Lewis (15-9, 12-8 RMAC) enters the final weekend of the regular season already having secured a spot in the RMAC Shootout, currently sitting in fifth place in the league standings. Junior forward Mary Brinton leads the Skyhawks with 13.7 points per game while leading the RMAC with a .545 shooting percentage this season.

For Adams State (4-20, 4-16), the Grizzlies are led by senior guard Desiree Anderson, who is averaging 13.0 points on the year.
Biddle has led the Mountaineers (4-20, 3-17 RMAC) in his final season, averaging 17.5 points and 4.7 assists. He enters his final weekend as a Mountaineer sixth in the school record books with 254 made free throws.

Fort Lewis (19-7, 14-6 RMAC) sits sixth in the RMAC standings and has secured a spot in the RMAC Shootout. Senior post Alex Herrera is third in the league with 23.7 points while topping the conference with 11.6 boards and 3.4 blocks per game.

Adams State (16-8, 12-8 RMAC) has also clinched a spot in the RMAC Shootout, currently in seventh place in the conference standings. Senior guard Juwan Buchanan leads the Grizzlies with 16.0 points per game while senior forward Mike Hemsley (.672) and senior post Michael Middlebrooks (.638) are first and second, respectively, in shooting percentage in the RMAC.
