PUEBLO, Colo.  The Mountaineers saw stellar performances on Day 1 of the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational on Friday.

At the opening event, the women's triple jump had Western Colorado's
Emma Alford finishing seventh recording a jump of 10.91 meters (35 feet-9.5 inches).

Lindsey Osterfelt placed tenth in the Javelin, her first event of the meet. The junior threw 33.37 meters (110 feet-7.75 inches). Charotte Heberlie and
Ainsley Rosenow were not far behind, finishing nineteenth and twentieth. Heberlie threw 26.60 meters (87 feet-3 inches) and Rosenow 26.40 meters (86 feet-7.25 inches).

The women's hammer final saw
Rylee Blanton finishing seventh, 48.01 meters (157 feet-6 inches). Further down the road, in fifteenth was
Katrina Trahan throwing 41.11 meters (134 feet-10.5 inches).

Colin Johnson and
Ethan VanMeter competed in the men's javelin finals. Johnson placed twentieth throwing 45.75 meters (150 feet-1 inch) and VanMeter concluded in twenty-sixth, launching the javelin 36.84 meters (120 feet-10.25 inches).
Logan Butterfield threw in the men's hammer throw, finishing at 53.92 meters (176 feet-10.75 inches) in eighth place.
Jacob Doyle (47.87 meter) and
Anthony Avila (46.66 meters) placed thirteenth and fourteenth.Â
