McDowell Earns RMAC Offensive Player of the Week for Second Straight Week

GUNNISON, COLO.,   For the second straight week, Aidan McDowell has claimed the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Through his most recent two-game stretch, Aidan McDowell has continued to establish himself as one of Western Colorado's most reliable offensive weapons, averaging 27.0 points per game while shooting 48.5% from the field. He added 4 made threes across the two outings and remained perfect at the line, going 18-for-18 at the free-throw stripe. McDowell also contributed a strong average of 7.0 rebounds per game, all on the defensive end, while averaging 2.0 assists, 1.0 turnover, and 1.0 steal per contest.

He delivered a dominant 31-point performance against Cameron, playing the full 40 minutes and grabbing six rebounds to lead the Mountaineers' perimeter attack. He followed that with 23 points and eight rebounds against Midwestern State, again showcasing his efficiency and ability to impact the game on both ends.

McDowell averages an incredible 30.0 points per game, shooting 55.1% from the field, 41.9% from beyond the arc, and a perfect 31-for-31 at the free-throw line, showcasing one of the most efficient scoring performances in the conference.

McDowell opened the season with a breakout 37-point performance at Angelo State, knocking down 14-of-19 shots and seven three-pointers. He followed that effort with 29 points at UT Permian Basin, finishing a flawless 11-for-11 at the line. Through four games, he has totaled 120 points, while also averaging 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.0 steal per game.

Behind McDowell's explosive scoring and elite efficiency, the Mountaineers have found a dynamic offensive catalyst. His consistency, volume, and impact across all four contests made him the clear choice for this week's RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honor.
