Olson finishes in second-place in long jump

GOLDEN, Colo. Western Colorado Cora Olson recorded a top-three finish today (May 13), as she competed in the women's long jump at the Mines Multi-Last Chance meet, in Golden, Colo.

Olson took to the runaway this evening and jumped to a distance of 5.52m (18-01.50) in the long jump on her third attempt, earning her second-place in the event. Olson gave it her all. But, needed to improve her ­season and career best mark of 5.73m (18-09.75) – which is eighth all-time – to 5.83m (19-01.50) in order to earn a provisional qualifying mark and give herself a shot at qualifying for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
