GOLDEN, Colo. Western Colorado is off to a strong start at the Kit Mayer Classic, as they had one school record broken, two provisional qualifying marks earned, seven top-five finishes and one top-ten all-time performance.
SCHOOL RECORD
- Now a school record holder in the indoor and outdoor women's shot put. Ali Aldrich recorded a first-place finish in the women's shot put, with a provisional qualifying heave of 14.44m (47-04.50), earning her first-place.
NCAA PROVISIONAL QUALIFYING MARKS
- Coming in first-place while also earning a provisional qualifying mark in the men's long jump, Malcom Wesley flew through the air and landed at a distance of 7.45m (24-05.50).
TOP-TEN ALL TIME MARK
- Cora Olson moved to eighth all-time in the women's long jump, leaping to a distance of 5.73m (18-09.75). That mark earned her fifth-place and was the third best mark against RMAC competition.
- Lindsey Osterfelt recorded a second-place finish in the women's javelin, with a toss of 35.64m (116-11). That toss moved her to tenth all-time
TOP-FIVE FINISHES
- Right behind Osterfelt in the women's javeling was Linnea Baldner, who finished in third-place with a distance of 35.56m (116-08).
- Ismael Dembele was close to cracking the top-three, finishing in fourth-place in the men's long jump, with a mark of 7.13m (23-04.75).
- In the men's shot put, Karter Evans recorded a heave of 14.00m (45-11.25) earning fifth-place.
