Mountaineers 5th and 6th in RMAC Preseason Polls

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has released its 2022 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Coaches Preseason Polls, slotting Western Colorado's women in fifth place and its men in sixth place within their respective polls.

The Mountaineer women earned 121 points from the league's coaches – coaches are not permitted to vote for their own program – 14 points behind fourth place Adams State University. Indoor conference team champion University of Colorado Colorado Springs tops the poll with 158 points and 11 of 14 first-place votes.

Western's men accumulated 90 points from the coaches' voting, only seven points back from fifth-place Colorado State University Pueblo. UC Colorado Springs, also the men's RMAC indoor team champion, leads the way in the poll results with 134 points and 10 of 13 first-place markers.

The RMAC conference championship meet will be held on Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1 in Spearfish, South Dakota, hosted by Black Hills State University.
