PUEBLO, Colo. Western Colorado wrestling posted a dominant Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory Saturday night, winning eight of 10 matches in a 28-8 victory over host Colorado State University Pueblo.
The victory at CSU-Pueblo was the second win in two nights following Friday's 39-6 conference triumph over host New Mexico Highlands University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cody Fatzinger continues to get the Mountaineers rolling from the opening match, steaming to a 13-5 major decision at 125. He led 4-2 after the first, 8-4 after the second, and had two takedowns against one escape in the third, adding the riding time point for his eight-point win.
- Pueblo got on the board and took a brief lead with a pin at 133, but Western then ran off seven consecutive wins in dominating the ThunderWolves.
- Jimmy LaConte recorded the lone fall for the Mountaineers during that seven-bout stretch, needing just 92 seconds to pin Pueblo's Remington Winmill at the 174 match.
- Dean Noble at 141 initiated the string of wins, just missing out on a major with his 15-8 victory.
- Jason Hanenberg at 149 and Ryan Wilson at 157 followed with 4-0 and 9-4 decisions, respectively, before Hunter Mullin posted an 11-5 win at 165.
- LaConte's pin was followed by a pair of narrow decisions that went Western's way
- Cole Gray won 8-6 at 184, earning the riding time point in the very-close bout
- Porter Fox at 197 trailed 1-0 after two periods, but opened with an escape from the bottom to start the third, earned a takedown for a 3-1 lead, then added another takedown after a Ben Gould escape, eventually winning out 5-3
MAT NOTES
- Pueblo picked up a win at 285 for another three points, but during one of the earlier matches the ThunderWolves were assessed a one-point Control of Mat violation, reducing their final team total to eight points.
- Fatzinger's quick start for the Mountaineers Saturday adds to his 16-0 technical fall – in just 98 seconds – Friday night at New Mexico Highlands University.

- Western begins a busy weekend on Thursday afternoon at Adams State University with a non-conference bout against Simon Fraser University, followed by an RMAC match against the host Grizzlies. The Mountaineers then return home to Paul Wright Gym for a Friday conference bout against Chadron State College before heading out Sunday for the Colorado School of Mines Open.
