INDIANAPOLIS  The NCAA on Friday afternoon released the brackets for the March 13-14 Division II Men's Wrestling Championship, with Western Colorado's Devin Gomez slotted as the No. 6 seed in the 125-pound bracket.

Gomez earned his way into nationals with a runner-up finish to the bracket's top seed at the Super Region VI Championships.

He wrestles Kutztown (Pa.) University's Nic Allison in the opening round at nationals, Allison earning his way into the tournament with a third-place finish at the Super Region I Championships.

Gomez, in the lower half of the championship bracket, would then have to face third-seeded Jack Parker of Grand Valley State or Nathan Smith of the University of Indianapolis.

The bottom half of the bracket includes the No. 2 seed, Anthony Aniciete of Tiffin (Ohio) University and the No. 7 seed from Chadron State, Quade Smith who Gomez defeated in a decision in Western's Feb. 5 dual win over the Eagles.

The No. 1 seed in the 125 bracket at nationals is Isaiah Gamez of Adams State. Gamez won the bracket at the Super Regional with his win over Gomez.

Gamez is joined in the top half of the bracket at nationals by fourth seed Shane Corrigan of Wis.-Parkside, fifth seed Eli Kirk of Central Oklahoma, and eighth-seeded Logan Sallot from Gannon (Pa.) University.

The opening round of the tournament begins at 8 a.m. MT on March 13, with the quarterfinal round of the championship side and the second and third rounds of the wrestleback bracket hitting the mats in the evening.

Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. MT will be the semifinals of the championship side, and the final rounds of the wrestleback bracket, including the third-, fifth- and seventh-place matches.

The championship bouts of all weight will take place Saturday evening.
