PORTALES, N.M. / LUBBOCK Texas Western Colorado will be on the road again this weekend, taking on Eastern New Mexico (Nov. 26) at 1 p.m. and Lubbock Christian (Nov. 27) at 2 p.m.    
 
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Western will attempt to get a winning streak going this weekend after beating Texas A&M – Kingsville 62-56 in overtime. Emmery Wagstaff was a force to be reckoned with in that game, scoring 25-points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She also recorded two blocks and one steal.
  • So far this season, Rachel Cockman has been the leading scorer for the Mountaineers averaging 15-points per game (PG). Wagstaff is right behind Cockman averaging 14-points PG. Brooklyn Seymour is also a threat on the offensive end scoring nine-points PG. Out of the trio, Cockman has the best field goal percentage (55.9 percent). Coming off the bench, Kylie Krise is leading the team in three-point percentage making 36.4 percent.
  • Cockman is also active on the glass grabbing nine rebounds PG and is tied with Hayley Valencia in blocks with two. Leading the team in blocks and steals is Wagstaff who has three steals and four blocks. Valencia is right behind Wagstaff in steals with three.
  • As a whole, Western averages 56-points PG, shooting; 34.9 percent from the field, 22.5 percent from three and 69.6 percent from the free throw line. They turn the ball over 17.7 times per game and steal the ball 4.3 times per game.
GREYHOUNDS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Eastern N.M. split their first two games of the season this past weekend, defeating Fort Lewis 73-58, then falling to New Mexico Highlands 53-55. Deja Adrian was the leading scorer in both of those games, dropping 22-points against the Skyhawks and 18-points against the Cowgirls. In both games, she knocked down three three-pointers and recorded one steal.
  • Edecia Beck is their next best scorer averaging 12.5 PG and is also the second-best shooter behind Adrian, making 40 percent of her shots. Additionally, Beck has yet to miss a free throw this season – making 11-of-11.
  • Leading the team in rebounds is Adrian, who has 15 rebounds (7.5 PG) and is followed by Beck who has 13 (6.5 PG). Defensively, they are led by Lazurea Saunders who has five steals. Not far behind is Beck who has four of her own.
  • As a whole, the Greyhounds score 63-points PG, shooting; 34.8 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from three and 70 percent from the free throw line. They turn the ball over 13 times PG and average 8.5 steals PG.
LADY CHAPS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Lubbock Christian has been on a roll as of late, resulting in them being on a three-game winning streak. In their recent matchup, they defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State (73-67). Grace Foster took over the game scoring 22-points, 16 rebounds and recording one steal. Currently, the Lady Chaps have a 3-2 overall record.
  • So far this season, Foster is the leading scorer for Lubbock Christian averaging 21.4-points PG and leading rebounder grabbing 10.8 rebounds PG. Audrey Robertson and Maci Maddox are also a threat on offense scoring 11.8 and 10.6-points PG. While Whitney Cox is the fourth-best scorer, averaging 8.8-points PG, she leads the team in field goal percentage making 56.8 percent. Foster is the best three-point shooter on the team sinking 57.9 percent.
  • On defense, Maddox has done a good job making life difficult for ballhandlers, recording 14 steals this season. Also making their presence felt on the defensive end is Reese Schumann who has blocked 10 shots this season.
  • As a whole, the Lady Chaps average 78.8-points PG, shooting; 46.2 percent from the field, 37.7 percent from three and 77.3 percent from the free throw line. They turn the ball over 16.8 times PG and steal the ball 7.2 times PG.
