Box Score 4 EDMOND, Okla. --- Western Colorado volleyball finishes the weekend 3-1 after their four match tournament in Oklahoma. The Mountaineers lost their first match on Friday against the University of Central Oklahoma 0-3, then went on to win three straight against Western New Mexico (3-0), Oklahoma Christian University (3-2), and Newman University (3-1).

The Mountaineers are now 5-3 overall this season with a three match winning streak as they begin RMAC play next week with South Dakota Mines on Friday, Sept. 17 and play Colorado Christian Saturday, Sept. 18.

University of Central Oklahoma (L, 16-25, 23-25, 12-25)
The Mountaineers had a tough start to their Oklahoma tournament as the University of Central Oklahoma swept the Mountaineers in three sets. Western Colorado played their best in the second set where they came up short, finishing 23-25.

Alex Galicia recorded 15 assists over the three set match, along with recording the teams only ace. Those assists went to
Caroline Parker who led the team with seven kills, along with
Jordyn Todd (five kills) and
Kat Finnerty (four kills).

Finnerty also led the team with six blocks as Parker recorded five blocks in the match. Also contributing defensively was Mountaineer
Elizabeth Rupprecht who led the team in digs with 16 over the three set match.

Western New Mexico University (W, 30-28, 25-20, 25-18)
After losing their first match of the tournament, the Mountaineers came back for their second set to sweep Western New Mexico University 3-0. Western Colorado clinched the first set in overtime, 30-28, to give them the momentum to close out the next two sets.

Jaeda Davis-Golliher led the team in kills as she recorded 10 kills over the three sets, with teammate
Jordyn Todd closely behind with nine kills. Most of those kills coming from
Alex Galicia who recorded 31 assists in one match.

Galicia also led the team in digs with 12 total, as Mountaineer
Elizabeth Rupprecht recorded 11 digs. At the net,
Kat Finnerty (five blocks) and
Emily Mangone (three blocks) recorded a total of seven blocks.

Oklahoma Christian University (W, 22-25, 26-24, 25-16, 20-25, 15-12)
Western Colorado won a tough five set match to start their second day of competition in Oklahoma. The Mountaineers beat Oklahoma Christian by closing out the fifth set 15-12. The team lost the first set, then won the next two, then lost the fourth to go on and win the fifth.

Defensively
Elizabeth Rupprecht recorded an impressive 38 digs to keep the Mountaineer in it, as
Jordyn Todd had 18 digs.
Jaeda Davis-Golliher made it tough for Oklahoma Christian as she recorded seven blocks at the net.

Alex Galicia earned 37 assist over the five sets, many of those going to
Caroline Parker who led Western Colorado with 16 kills as both
Emily Mangone and
Jordyn Todd each recorded 12 kills.

Newman University (W, 23-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-18)
The Mountaineers closed out their tournament with a victory over Newman University by winning the last three sets.

Hailee Martinez and
Alex Galicia shared the setting responsibilities as Galicia recorded 25 assists and Martinez earned 23 assists in the match. Most of those going to
Jordyn Todd and
Emily Mangone as Todd had 15 kills and Mangone recorded 13 kills.

Defensively
Elizabeth Rupprecht led the Mountaineers with 23 digs over the four sets, as the team put up five blocks.

At the service line, Western Colorado dominated with nine aces, three of which came from Mangone.
