Western's Cooper named All-RMAC First Team; Coleman, Wagstaff on Second Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- Western Colorado's Hannah Cooper was selected to the All-RMAC First Team, Samantha Coleman and Emmery Wagstaff were named to the second team and Jessie Erickson was named honorable mention when the conference released its season awards on Thursday.

Cooper has followed up her RMAC Freshman of the Year and All-RMAC Second Team campaign with an even more stellar sophomore season. She's averaging 16.7 points (fifth in the RMAC), 4.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists (fourth in the RMAC), 1.6 steals (12th in the RMAC) and 0.4 blocks per game. Cooper's ability to drive to the basket and draw contact has led her to being second in the RMAC and in the top-15 in free throws attempted (116 - 13th nationally) and made (100 - eighth nationally) while shooting 86.2 percent from the line. She also opened the season with a bang, scoring 34 points in a win over Black Hills State on Dec. 4 - the fourth-most ever by a Mountaineer.

Cooper is the first Mountaineer to earn first-team honors since Katie Hall in 2011-12.

Coleman on the season is averaging 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game this season. The Las Vegas native is shooting 40.6 percent from 3-point range, fifth in the RMAC, while making 2.3 3-pointers per game - seventh in the conference. It's the second year in a row she's been named to the All-RMAC Second Team after earning All-RMAC honorable mention honors as a sophomore.

Wagstaff is averaging 13.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in her first season from the Mountaineers. The Utah State-Eastern transfer is shooting 43.1 percent from 3-point range, fourth in the RMAC and 27th in the nation, while she's making 2.61 3-pointers per game - third in the RMAC and 24th in Division II.

Erickson averaged 6.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game while providing on-court leadership and a strong defensive presence - taking numerous charges throughout the season.

The Mountaineers return to action 7:30 p.m. Friday in the semifinals of the RMAC Tournament against Black Hills State in Golden, Colorado.
