GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado Athletic Department has followed the university, Gunnison County and state stay-at-home orders since March and been continuing operations from their respective households during the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the Mountaineers know there are those still going to their job to keep Gunnison County rolling - and they wanted to show their appreciation
Organized by women's basketball coach
Lora Westling and called Feed the Frontline, WCU coaches and administrative staff donated money to purchase 150 lunches from corporate sponsors Mario's Pizza, 5B's BBQ, Powerstop and McDonald's to deliver meals to Gunnison Valley Hospital, City Market, Safeway, the WCU facilities department and other places of business.
We at WCU Athletics want to thank all essential workers for their dedication and bravery so we can observe the university, county and state orders and work from home. Your commitment to keeping Gunnison County going is amazing!
