GUNNISON, Colo.  Western Colorado athletics added a pair of newcomers to the department's staff as the fall semester began, welcoming Cori Lingo and Daphne Williams to the Western Slope.

Lingo takes over the Athletic Facilities and Operations Coordinator position, while Williams embarks on the newly created position of Marketing/Ticketing/Special Events Coordinator.

Most recently, Lingo served as the game operations and facilities lead for Eastern Kentucky University athletics, beginning her time with the Colonels in September 2024 as an athletics intern and gameday staff member.

In those roles she assisted with gameday operations for several of EKU's NCAA Division I sports, including football, volleyball, softball, and soccer. Lingo coordinated event setup and breakdown for athletic competitions and special events, coordinated event staff and helped oversee the maintenance of athletic facilities.

Williams was the Sports Information Director at Newman (Kan.) University, having filled that position since July 2024. She was the primary media contact for 19 NCAA Division II athletic programs and managed the department's digital communications strategy, overseeing social media platforms, content creation, and scheduling and engagement.

She directed game operations for all home athletic events, including overseeing marketing and promotions of special events at home Jets contests.
