GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Colorado University Men's Basketball will be looking for the first conference win of the season this weekend while hosting Black Hills State University and South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Friday's game against BHSU begins at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday's against SDSMT starts at 7 p.m. Both games will be played in Paul Wright Gym.

Western (3-8, 0-5 RMAC) will be looking to bounce back from a 75-86 loss to Metro State University Denver in their last game played on Dec. 16.

The Mountaineers have the sixth best offense in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, averaging 79.2 points per game. Western is averaging 9.4 made three-pointers per game, which ranks second best in the conference.

Leading the Western offensive attack is
Quincy Harding and
Brady Subart.

Harding is averaging 21 points per game, which ranks third in the RMAC.

Subart is averaging 14.2 points per game and leads the conference in three-point field goal percentage at 50.8 percent.

The Mountaineers are also leading the conference in offensive rebounds, pulling down 12 offensive rebounds per game.

BHSU (6-3, 5-0 RMAC) is tied for first in the RMAC, winning the first five conference games of the season. The Yellow Jackets are on a five-game win streak, including two wins in overtime.

Against BHSU, Western is 5-7 all-time. The Mountaineers defeated the Yellow Jackets 90-76 in last season's meeting on the Paul Wright Gym floor.

BHSU boasts the RMAC's second best defense, allowing opponents to score just 68.7 points on average.
