GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University wrestling hosts Chadron State College in the Mountaineers' home opener on Friday at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym. The dual is dubbed "Sun's Out, Guns Out" and fans are encouraged to wear beach attire.
 
Along with the "Sun's Out, Guns Out" theme, fans will have their first chance to purchase RED TORNADO t-shirts at the dual. The Red Tornado is the nickname of the Mountaineer wrestling fan base, known for their large and boisterous presence at all Western wrestling events. For more info on the RED TORNADO, click here.
 
The Mountaineers enter Friday night's dual after defeating then ranked 21^st Colorado Mesa University Mavericks, 30-13. Western is currently receiving votes in the Division II national rankings.
 
Individually, two Mountaineers are ranked nationally. Brandon Supernaw is ranked sixth at 174 pounds, while teammate Konnor Schmidt ranks 11^th at 197 pounds.
 
Friday will be the first dual of the season for CSC.
 
The Eagles defeated the Mountaineers by one point, 18-19. Prior to last season, the Mountaineers had won the previous nine duals against CSC. Western is 18-7-1 all-time against the Eagles.
