CSM and CCU have both clinched a conference tournament playoff spot. The Orediggers are also still in the running for the regular season RMAC title as they are tied with their Saturday night opponent, Colorado State University – Pueblo atop the Mountain Division. BHSU also has a 16-3 RMAC record as they sit first in the Rocky Division.

Courtney Martin leads CSM in scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game. The Cougars are led by the conference's sixth leading scorer, Kate Louthan, who is averaging 14.6 points per game.

The last time Colorado Mines was in Gunnison, the Mountaineers came away with a win. Western defeated CSM 55-44 on Jan. 2 of last year.

Wins over CCU have eluded Western recently as the last Mountaineer win over the Cougars came on Dec. 12, 2008 in Gunnison.
