Live VideoGUNNISON, Colo. - Thursday night, the Western State Colorado University wrestling program will travel to Alamosa, Colorado to face Adams State University. The dual will begin at 7 p.m. in Plachy Hall Gym.
Western (6-1, 2-0 RMAC), ranked 11th in Division II, enters Thursday's dual having won four straight. The Mountaineers currently sit second in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual standings.
ASU (0-3, 0-3 RMAC) heads into the dual having dropped their first three duals to RMAC opponents.
The Mountaineers currently have three wrestlers ranked in the top eight of their weight classes.
Elliot Copeland (Sr., Bennett, Colorado) is ranked second at 174 pounds.
Kyle Piatt (Sr., Olathe, Colorado) is ranked fifth at 184 pounds, and
Sam Mangum (Sr. McAllen, Texas) is ranked sixth at 197 pounds.
Following the dual against ASU, Western will send wrestlers to the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Open in Golden, Colorado on Saturday. Results from the tournament will be made available on www.GoMountaineers.com.
