Mountaineer Soccer 10th in RMAC Preseason Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Thursday afternoon released its 2025 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, listing Western Colorado in 10th with a total of 50 points.

In addition, the announcement included the 2025 Preseason All-RMAC Team, a list that includes the Mountaineers' Natsuki Murakami, a senior midfielder who led Western last season with eight points (3 goals, 2 assists) and was a second-team All-RMAC player in 2024.

Returning regular season and tournament champion Colorado School of Mines leads the poll with nine first-place votes and a total of 140 points, ahead of second place University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (130 points), which earned three first-place votes. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own teams in the polling.

Western finished with a 3-6-3 conference mark last season, a ninth-place finish that was one spot shy of qualifying for the RMAC postseason tournament.

The Mountaineers open the 2025 campaign on the road with a pair of neutral-site games on September 4 and 6, playing Southwestern Oklahoma University and Oklahoma Christian University on those respective dates.

The home opener for Western is also a non-conference matchup, taking place on Wed., Sept. 10 at Katy O. Rady Field against visiting West Texas A&M University.

The Mountaineers' RMAC slate opens at Colorado State University Pueblo on Fri., Sept. 26.
