Moreno Roch To Be Inducted into RMAC Hall of Fame

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Wednesday afternoon announced its 2025 Hall of Fame Class, a group of seven inductees that includes Western Colorado's Lori Moreno Roch.

Inducted into the Mountaineer Sports Hall of Fame in 1996, Moreno Roch was the Mountaineers' first women's national champion, capturing the 5,000-meter run individual title at the 1987 NAIA outdoor track & field championships.

She would add a second individual title by winning the 10,000m run at the 1988 NAIA outdoor championship.

Moreno Roch earned NAIA All-American honors five times in her career: indoor mile (1987, 1988) and as a member of a distance medley relay team (1987); outdoor 5,000 (1988) and 10,000 (1988).

Western captured RMAC team titles at the outdoor 1986, 1987 and 1988 meets, with Moreno Roch racing to individual titles in the 1,500 and 3,000 at the 1988 outdoor championship. She set four Western Colorado records while competing for the Mountaineers, and her best time in the 10,000 (34:55.10) still resides on the program's outdoor top-10 list, ranking ninth all time.

The RMAC Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Colorado Springs Marriott. Tickets will be available in the upcoming days at RMACSports.org/Tickets.
