KEARNEY, Neb. The Western Colorado wrestling team will once again head to the Midwest for its annual trip to the University of Nebraska Kearney and the Younes Hospitality Open.
A regular trip on their schedule, the Mountaineers will be taking 30 wrestlers who will compete across three divisions at the Open – Elite, Amateur, and new this year, Intermediate.
At least 10 wrestlers will be in the Elite division brackets from Western. That bracket figures to include
Roberto Estrada at 125 pounds,
Devin Gomez (133),
Isaac Chavarria (141),
Eyan Chavez (149),
Vincent Cabral (157),
Jacob Blandford (165),
Hunter Richardson (184),
Sage Harrison (197) and

In a yet to be determined division will be
Miles Harris, who wrestled his way into the championship bout of the 149-pound bracket at the Colorado School of Mines Rookie Open.
Erik Anderson will also be at the Open after reaching the quarterfinals of the 174 bracket at Mines, only falling out of the championship bracket to the eventual bracket champion.
There are no team scores kept at the Younes Open, only individual brackets and champions are awarded.
